Richard Emsiek, AIA
Principal
Richard Emsiek, AIA, is recognized for his demonstrated ability to design and manage a full range of architectural projects. Since joining MVE & Partners and starting MVE Institutional, Emsiek has led teams on a wide variety of architectural and planning assignments ranging from large-scale university and college developments to residential, mixed-use and resort communities. His vision and leadership in multiple complex building types has led to the firm's achievements in new architectural design arenas, helping establish MVE Institutional as a prominent design and planning firm in both the public and private sectors.
As architectural projects become more sophisticated, MVE Institutional's depth and diversity is proving to be a strong asset for the growing firm. With his experience working with diverse clients, Emsiek is able to draw from his understanding of several disciplines to create complex and innovative developments that meet and exceed the needs of various users. It is this diversity of design and range of expertise that has resulted in innovative and successful projects for MVE Institutional and its affiliated firms.
While client needs come first, Emsiek believes that all projects should improve the built environment, and improve the community in which they are situated. As such, he instituted a mandate within the firm that each principal must adopt a cause, serve on a board or volunteer time and expertise in other ways. Emsiek, himself, helped establish the Newport Harbor Sailing Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing financial aid to youth sailors to participate in national and international regattas.
With over twenty years of experience as a leader in one of California's top ten largest architecture firms, Emsiek continues to strive for social, economic and architectural excellence with MVE Institutional.
