MVE Institutional Announces Key Promotion

Mel Tan Recognized for Designs, Contributions

MVE Institutional, an affiliate of MVE & Partners, announced the promotion of Mel Tan, lead design architect, to the rank of Associate Partner.

"We wanted to recognize Mel Tan for his contributions and extraordinary design skills," said Robert Simons, AIA, Principal of MVE Institutional. "But of equal importance, we are building our MVE Institutional team to reach for institutional projects of even greater design excellence, complexity and subtlety than ever before. Tan will be instrumental in this growth."

Tan has been part of the MVE & Partners team since 2001, and joined MVE Institutional in 2005. Since then he has designed for school districts, colleges, universities and religious institutions in, Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Diego and Riverside among others.

Not only has Tan played a key role in the development of the MVE Institutional group, he has also helped build lasting relationships with institutional clients such as California Baptist University, Tustin Unified School District and various California State Universities. He has a Bachelor of Architecture degree from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and an Architecture and Planning Certificate from University of Copenhagen, Denmark.
