MVE Institutional was selected, along with Sundt Construction and Studio E Architects, to develop student housing at the University of California in San Diego. This project is located on a very beautiful site which is surrounded on three sides by an open space easement. Beyond the open space to the west is the Interstate 5, and beyond that, the heart of the university campus. The primary target market is single graduate and medical students who are attending UCSD.
The project consists of approximately 800 apartment-style beds configured in two-bedroom/one-bathroom units arranged in four unique buildings. In addition to the residential units, the development includes amenities such as study lounges, meeting rooms, vending machine and mail areas, as well as administrative offices and a student operated cafe. The project includes parking for occupants at a 1:1 ratio in a variety of options. The majority of the parking for residents and guests is found in a multi-level parking structure, while additional parking is tucked under the apartment buildings and in open parking areas throughout the project.
