The needs assessment of Edison High School identified the key facilities that will bring the campus to current standards and to adequately serve 2,500 students with the ability to ultimately serve 3,000 students. The recommended scope of the Master Plan for the high school campus embraces recommendations by the District and staff coupled with the standards established by CDE for facility and site area space needs.
New buildings in the master plan include a dance studio, a wood shop, a 2-story field house, lunch shelters, and a 2-story administration/classroom building which will become a signature building on the campus. Modernization and reconstruction efforts will be applied to the main gymnasium, science classrooms and labs, performing arts facility, library, and multi-purpose room/cafeteria.
Site development includes a new stadium facility composed of synthetic turf football/soccer field, 9-lane all-weather track, 6,000 grandstand seating capacity, new stadium lights, P/A system, timing equipment, and new press box. Other site improvements include two additional tennis courts, two baseball diamonds with synthetic turf, one synthetic turf dedicated for soccer use, one grass multi-use field and a new student quad area with raised platform.
